Training And Targets

When we hear “training,” it’s easy to think about performance targets or professional development. But one of the most valuable forms of training is the kind we do for ourselves, physical training that supports our energy, focus, and long-term health.

In a corporate setting, much of the day is spent sitting, often with little movement between meetings and deadlines. Over time, this can leave us feeling sluggish, tense, and mentally drained. Regular physical activity helps counteract that. It doesn’t have to mean intense workouts or long gym sessions, simple, consistent movement can make a real difference.

Training your body improves circulation, supports posture, and boosts energy levels throughout the day. Many people also notice sharper concentration and a more positive mindset after even a short session of movement. Whether it’s a quick stretch in the morning, a walk during lunch, or a short workout after work, these moments add up.

It’s also worth remembering that physical training is a form of self-investment. Just as we build skills for our careers, we can build strength, resilience, and stamina for everyday life. And the stronger and more energised we feel, the better we show up. Not just at work, but everywhere else too.

There’s no need to overcomplicate it. Start small, stay consistent, and choose activities you enjoy. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s feeling better, one step at a time.
